Cyprus · Month 11 of 12
Cyprus in
November.
Cyprus turns gentle again — flamingos on the salt lake, last warm sea, low prices.
The weather, honestly
November is shoulder season properly. Highs of 22°C — warm enough for outdoor lunches, too cool for most to want the sea (still 22°C if you do). Rain returns to coastal Cyprus by mid-month; the countryside greens up beautifully.
What to actually do
A city-and-walking holiday more than a beach holiday — though you can still swim warmer than the UK summer. The Larnaca salt lake flamingos arrive in numbers from mid-month. Olive harvest is in full swing — village pressing rooms welcome visitors.
Events & festivals
- Olive harvest — Across the countryside. Village pressing rooms work through November; visitors welcome at most.
- Salt lake flamingos — Larnaca and Akrotiri. Arrive from mid-November, stay until March.
Where to go
- Larnaca. Flamingos arrive. The city is mildest of the cities in November.
- Wine country. Post-harvest, quietest time at the wineries.
- Nicosia. A walkable capital at a walkable temperature.
What to pack
- Layers
- A waterproof
- Walking shoes
- Swimwear if you swim coldish
Practical notes
Several beach resorts begin their winter shutdown. Cities and main tourist towns all open. Prices at the year-low alongside January.
